“Wow, this is very surreal,” Madison said, having hugged Baker and others before taking the stage.
“Forgive me, I’m nervous,” she said before reading off a list of names from a piece of paper.
Demi Moore :
"So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light," Moore continued, while also thanking her costars, the crew and fans of "The Substance."
On social media and on a subreddit dedicated to Moore’s upset, some fans suggested that her loss underscored one of the central themes of the film: the challenges older actresses face in a Hollywood that is obsessed with young women.
