Advertising Week New York 2019 kicked off this morning with ribbon cutting ceremony

The ceremony included an exciting group of mascots and treasured brand icons, including Dino Sinclair, Charlie the Tuna, the Jolly Green Giant, Miss Chiquita and Smokey Bear. It was also announced that the Oscar Mayer Hotdoggers are receiving the Madison Avenue Walk of Fame Icon Award.

 

Simultaneously, we raised the curtain on our 16th year of Advertising Week New York the same way we launched the very first event on September 20, 2004, when Ken and Burtch Drake opened the NASDAQ Stock Exchange. Today, Advertising Week kicked off back at NASDAQ to inaugurate our climate action pledge called “The Future is Calling,” organized in partnership with The Potential Energy Coalition and Ad Council. 

In response to the youth global climate movement and the need for urgent action on climate change, the pledge mobilizes business leaders to use the full force of their resources to creatively and effectively increase public knowledge and urgency about the climate crisis. The Opening Bell Ceremony was filled with executives from companies who have signed the Pledge – including Facebook, DDB, Barbarian and Quantcast – youth activists who are leading the charge, and activist and actress, Maggie Q.
