One of Hollywood’s funniest couples is taking the BookExpo stage this year for the 2018 Adult Book & Author Breakfast. Acclaimed humorists Megan Mullally (Will & Grace) and Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation) will co-host one of the show’s most sought-after events at ReedPOP’s BookExpo. They will be joined by Trevor Noah (Born a Crime), Barbara Kingsolver (Unsheltered), Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, The Last Song) and Jill Lepore (These Truths: A History of the United States), all of whom will speak about their upcoming releases and the inspiration behind their writing.

Taking place Thursday, May 31, at the Jacob Javits Center in New York, the Adult Book & Author Breakfast is one of the most popular events at BookExpo each year. The breakfast brings together some of the nation’s leading voices in adult literature for an insightful and lively discussion of their works and the industry. This year’s co-hosts, husband and wife celebrity duo Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman, will discuss for the first time, The Greatest Love Story Ever Told, their upcoming joint memoir revealing the full story behind their epic romance. Offerman is the author of three previous New York Times bestsellers, Paddle Your Own Canoe, Gumption, and Good Clean Fun, and this is Mullally’s first book.

They will be joined by the host of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning late-night show The Daily Show on Comedy Central, Trevor Noah, who will discuss his upcoming memoir, which picks up where his #1 New York Times bestselling debut-- Born a Crime-- ends, following Trevor’s journey from a young, aspiring comedian in a reborn South Africa to the cusp of global stardom.  Born a Crime received the Thurber Prize for American Humor and two NAACP Image Awards. Noah’s performance on the Born a Crime audiobook was Audible’s highest rated audiobook of 2016. This year The Daily Show was nominated for a Writers Guild Award (Comedy/Variety Series), as well as two NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Talk Series and Outstanding Host in a Talk or News/Information Show. Noah also recently won Best Host at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards, as well as a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Short Form Variety Series for his hosting role on “The Daily Show – Between The Scenes.” Barbara Kingsolver, New York Times bestselling author of The Poisonwood Bible and The Lacuna, will debut Unsheltered, a timely new novel that looks to history as well as contemporary life to explore the human capacity for resiliency and compassion in times of great uncertainty.

One of the world’s most beloved authors, Nicholas Sparks will preview his forthcoming work, a new novel with his signature combination of gripping, emotionally resonant storytelling and love overcoming all odds. Sparks has sold over 100 million copies of his books, which include 14 #1 New York Times bestsellers and 11 that have been translated into major motion pictures. A staff writer for The New Yorker and preeminent historian, Jill Lepore is best known for authoring The Secret History of Wonder Woman, as well as for being one of our foremost public intellectuals and most sought-after speakers on history and on truth in history. She will join the other Breakfast speakers to discuss her upcoming book, These Truths: A History of the United States, an ambitious history that upends many beliefs about America once taken as self-evident truths. Lepore is an elected fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and is the David Woods Kemper 41 Professor of American History at Harvard University.

"Our Adult Book & Author Breakfast is one of attendees’ favorite events, offering them an opportunity to hear from some of the industry’s most prominent authors across a diverse range of genres and subjects,” said Brien McDonald, Event Director for BookExpo. “Drawing over a thousand attendees each year, the event showcases a phenomenal group of authors with unique perspectives and this year’s stellar lineup is no exception.”
