Asian Comedy Fest celebrates its sixth year with bicoastal launch

Asian Comedy Fest (ACF) announces the sixth year of the festival, now officially bicoastal! This year’s fest kicks off in New York City, May 6–8, with six stacked shows, followed by a one-night-only Los Angeles takeover on May 27. Across both cities, audiences can expect over 50 of the best Asian and Pacific Islander comedians from around the world.

ACF is the largest and longest running international comedy fest dedicated to elevating diverse voices within the Asian and Pacific Islander community. Not only does ACF provide a platform for both established and emerging API talent spanning stand-up, sketch, musical comedy and more; but ACF also has partnered with numerous Asian-owned small businesses and restaurants, and raised over $30,000 in recent years for AAPI-focused nonprofits including APEX for Youth, Heart of Dinner, Welcome to Chinatown, and A4 (Asian American Arts Alliance). ACF continues to raise the bar for its sixth year through partnership with The Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF).

AALDEF was founded 50 years ago to protect and promote the civil rights of Asian Americans. AALDEF serves diverse Asian communities around the country in solidarity with each other, communities of color, and marginalized groups. Community lawyering is at the heart of AALDEF’s work, which combines litigation, advocacy, education, and organizing to secure human rights for all people.

This year’s performers include: Margaret Cho, Youngmi Mayer, Dylan Adler, Usama Siddiquee, Charlene Kaye, Sam Oh, Andrea Jin, Kathleen Kim, Jason Cheny, Subhah Agarwal, Mic Nguyen, Fumi Abe, Jenny Yang, Peng Dang
