The Tote Project is a fair trade lifestyle brand making ethically crafted totes and pouches that directly support the fight against human trafficking. Their designs are created with purpose:

  • Totes sewn by survivors and women at risk. Made with Fairtrade certified organic cotton, printed in the U.S. using eco-friendly inks, with thoughtful interior pockets for real everyday use. Each retails for $45 at TheToteProject.com.

  • What makes the brand stand out is how seamlessly it blends style with impact. Every purchase helps fund anti-trafficking initiatives, including their current partnership supporting vulnerable children in Haiti. To date, they’ve invested over $100K in fair trade production and donated more than $50K to survivor programs.

About The Tote Project

Founded by best friends Michelle Chavez and Fay Grant, The Tote Project was built on the belief that fashion can be a force for freedom. Every product is Fair Trade Federation verified,

Partnership with Impactful Missions

In 2025, The Tote Project is donating 10% of its net profits to support Impactful Missions, which works through the Impact International Institute of Haiti. At a time of severe instability and insecurity in the country, children face heightened risks of exploitation and human trafficking. Impactful Missions is addressing this crisis by providing at-risk children in Fond Doux with accessible education, nutritious meals, and a safe refuge.

This collaboration reflects The Tote Project’s core commitment to trafficking prevention, complementing its long-standing efforts in survivor support, awareness building, and ethical manufacturing. To date, The Tote Project has invested over $100,000 in orders with fair trade partners, donated more than $50,000 to survivor-focused nonprofits, and been recognized by Congress for its impact in the fight against human trafficking.
