Tribeca Film Fest Recap Day 9 - Happy Clothes with Patricia Field

Open Heart had its world premiere at the OKX Theater at BMCC TPAC with subject and former NY Rangers Goalie Henrik Lundqvist as well as Dominic Moore, Jacob Trouba, John Giannone, Carl Hagelin, Jonathan Hock, Erin Leyden, Mike Richter, and Steve Valiquette in attendance. 

 

The Indeed Theater at Spring Studios hosted Billy Porter and Idina Menzel for a Storytellers conversation as well as a Directors Series discussion with Steven Soderbergh and David Fincher.

Over at the SVA Theatre, the day started with the world premiere of the documentary Happy Clothes: A Film About Patricia Field with guests including Patricia Field, Kim Catrall, Bresha Webb, Michael Urie, and Darren Star. Later in the day, Nick Barili, Joe Conzo, and DJ Flipstar attended the world premiere of MTV Entertainment’s new docuseries De La Calle, which was then followed by the world premiere of The Horror of Dolores Roach with Justina Machado, Alejandro Hernandez, K.Todd Freeman, Kita Updike, and more attending.

 

The Tribeca Festival also announced the winning storytellers in its competition categories at an awards ceremony at Racket NYC. The top honors went to Cypher for the Founders Award for Best U.S. Narrative Feature, A Strange Path for Best International Narrative Feature, and Between the Rains for Best Documentary Feature. Awards were given in the following competition categories: Feature Film, Short Film, Audio Storytelling, Immersive, Games, Human / Nature, AT&T Untold Stories, and Tribeca X.
