France’s President Emmanuel Macron has bestowed the title of Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) on musician and Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director Pharrell Williams in recognition of his contributions to the creative industries.
Pharrell Williams attended the award ceremony with his wife Helen Lasichanh, with whom he shares four children. The multi-disciplined creative is known for his music production, song writing, vibrant performances, and eclectic aesthetic style. This contributed to his appointment as artistic director for Louis Vuitton’s men’s collections in February 2023, a move that disrupted the fashion world and preceded appointments of numerous cultural figures to the heads of other luxury maisons.
