The second and final day of the festival continued the spirit of yesterday’s events with engaging panel discussions, dynamic workout classes, interactive lifestyle brand activations, and a rainbow-covered swing set.
Lisa Sugar, POP SUGAR’S Founder and President, took the stage to welcome the crowd. Following, guests kicked off the day with an invigorating workout class led by Tone It Up co-founders Karena Dawn and Katrina Scott.
The morning ended with an inspiring “Be Your Own Powerhouse” discussion featuring headlining speaker Issa Rae and moderated by Amy Aniobi, an executive producer on Rae’s hit HBO series Insecure.When asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Rae said, "Chill. Stop comparing yourself to other people: what's meant for you is meant for you and only you."
In the afternoon, guests were treated to a sneak peek of the new musical Jagged Little Pill, inspired by the acclaimed Alanis Morissette’s album of the same name.The show’s cast performed two songs, “All I Really Want” and “You Live You Learn”, in their first public performance before the show hits Broadway this fall.
The day continued with a “Power Your Truth” conversation featuring headliner Chrissy Teigen, and moderated by celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin , with a surprise appearance onstage from Teigen’s daughter Luna. The real-life BFF duo kept the fans laughing as Chrissy shared anecdotes and advice with the packed crowd. When asked if her marriage to singer John Legend was a failure, Teigen joked, “Absolutely.” Getting more serious, Teigen spoke about how she knew John was the one and how she knew he would be a good father, advising the audience, “Marry the nerd. Marry the dorks...We call John Googy Browser. He’s always googling. You can ask him anything and he knows it immediately.” Following, Chrissy brought Luna to the Playground to hang out on the swings before signing books for fans in the Pop Shop.
On the Samsung Galaxy Soul Space Stage, Alison Brie spoke on a panel presented by Manitoba Harvest entitled “CBD: Not Your Average Flower.” The actress got candid about the CBD trend sweeping the nation, stating, “Hollywood has been comfortable with cannabis for a long time. [There are] more dispensaries than Starbucks in LA.” Over in the Pop Shop, Loosely Connected hosts Janet Francis and Meredith Mohr interviewed fashion designer Jenna Lyons for an upcoming episode of the podcast.
Other key moments from the final day of the festival featured a panel and book signing with authors Wendy Walker (The Night Before),Andrea Bartz (The Lost Night), Rachel Howzell Hall(They All Fall Down),Michele Campbell (A Stranger on the Beach), classes led by fitness forces Simone De La Rue, Deja Riley, and Anna Victoria, and more.
The day’s festivities ended on the main-stage with instructors from The Class by Taryn Toomey leading the crowd in a charged-up workout session aimed to empower their Monday.
