Color Farm Media Partners with Ben & Jerry’s
in Support Of Reparations Film The Big Payback at Tribeca Film Festival

Ben & Jerry’s will pass out “Root Beer Floats for Reparations Now!” at Color Farm Media’s World Premiere Screenings of The Big Payback documentary film

Color Farm Media, self-described as the “Motown of Film, TV & Tech” and producers of the award-winning documentary film John Lewis: Good Trouble, has announced a partnership with Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, to debut their newest project, a documentary film about reparations for Black Americans called, The Big Payback.

The Big Payback has its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on Saturday, June 11th, and is co-directed by Color Farm co-founder and iconic actress, Erika Alexander, and Whitney Dow, whose previous credits include the award-winning film Two Towns of Jasper. Color Farm and Ben & Jerry’s are also co-hosting a special, free-to-the-public, Juneteenth, community screening of The Big Payback at the World Famous Apollo Theater in Harlem on June 19, 2022.

The film is produced by Ben Arnon and Xan Parker. The film spotlights former Evanston, Illinois Alderwoman, Robin Rue Simmons; who passed the first, tax funded, reparations bill for Black Americans, and it also highlights Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee; and her fight to pass HR-40 legislation in Congress. The congresswoman passed the historic, bipartisan 2021 bill that made Juneteenth a national holiday.

Color Farm teamed up with Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, because of their deep commitment to social and racial justice, and it’s one of a handful of companies that have publicly endorsed HR-40 and reparations. Ben & Jerry’s will be on site at the Tribeca premiere screening passing out a booklet that features racial justice information, entitled “Silence Is Not an Option”, as well as a unique new menu item of ice cream being called “Root Beer Floats for Reparations Now!”
