  • What is it about the 80s era that you are drawn to?

I just love how BIG everything was back then in every way. The fashion choices, hairstyles, makeup, synths, drums, etc! It was such an excessive time and unapologetically gaudy. I'm obsessed with that! That's why I wanted to incorporate that concept into the LP title and "MEGA" just popped into my head.

  • What is your favorite band or artist from that era?
From that era specifically, I'd have to say, Billy Joel and Cyndi Lauper. But there are so many!! The 80s gave us Madonna, Guns N’ Roses, Prince, Aerosmith, David Bowie, Elton John... I mean these people defined music as we know it. So magical!!

How do you describe your personal style?
Somewhere between naked and a rainbow faux fur jacket.

How long have you been a singer? Where were you discovered?
I've been a singer forever. I feel like as singers you're always getting "discovered" by new people at different parts of your career but the first time anyone realized I could sing I was 4 and I sang at my Kindergarten graduation. I didn't tell anyone and my parents were like omg what's happening. Afterward, people were like, "she's good! put her in musical theater!" So I did that for most of my life and I still love musical theater so much.

What’s a writing session like when writing with a celebrity artist?
It's always different. People are people and they have their own ways of doing things. You just have to be positive and ready to adapt to the vibe in the room.

Is there a particular song you have written that’s your favorite? Why?
My favorite song I've ever written is a song called "Wild". We are re-thinking the production of it for the new album but the bones of the record are what make it so special to me. One of my favorite people in the world taught me to play the piano a few years back and it's helped me so much with my writing. I was going through some stuff and I sat down at the piano and wrote the record and put chords to it and it was such cathartic. It's really special to me and my favorite song to perform!
