Wine Tour in Douro Valley - 2 Wineries, Tastings, River Cruise and Lunch

Ouch! Magazine has our first expense with the highly enjoyable tour company Living Tours in Porto , Portugal.

We have no idea what to accept and to our surprise this trip was a magical one.

Met early at the office at 8am and we were grouped in teams to ride an uber comfortable tour bus. This tour bus had plenty of space for you to relax and take in the scenery .The tour was a bi-laungual tour with English , Spanish, French and Portuguese ranges spoken . We have a wide variety of people from all over the world on our tour. This was great at the dinner table as we have a 3 course meal with wine of course.

Our trip was set for the beautiful Douro Valley , one of the most beautiful places I had ever seen. The Douro is the highest-flow river of the Iberian Peninsula. It rises near Duruelo de la Sierra in Soria Province, central Spain, meanders south briefly then flows generally west through the north-west part of central Spain and into northern Portugal, to its mouth at Porto, the second largest city of Portugal.

The Douro Valley is famed for being the oldest demarcated (meaning it's defined by strict boundaries) wine-growing region on the planet and a large section of it was even made a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2001. That's beautiful scenery, lush grapes and wonderful wine! We tasted port wines and even had a Free Lunch with our tour. The wine locations were spectacular and so were the tour guides.

We learned all about the proper way to taste a wine high and low. We sample wine for ranges 20 and more.If you want a real experience and a break from the norm just book this tour on your next trip to Northern Portugal .
