Jenny and Paul meet at a pub. Quickly, they fall in love. The beginnings of their relationship blossom against a world that's falling apart. Jenny becomes radicalized into climate action; Europe moves further to the Right; martial law is in place.

Alex Lawther is an actor-writer-director living in South-East London. As an actor he is best known for his leading role in THE END OF THE F*ING WORLD, BLACK MIRROR: SHUT UP AND DANCE, and more recently as Nemik in STAR WARS: ANDOR.

FOR PEOPLE IN TROUBLE is his debut writing and directing project which will premiere at Tribeca Festival 2023. The short film stars Emma D'Arcy and Archie Madekwe  and is executive produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
