What is your favorite part of your job?

I love working in a team, I love creating synergies and being able to help each other when needed. The second thing I love the most are definitely events: you work on an event for months and months and then the day finally comes and I really love seeing all my hard work come to life and meeting all our VIP and influencer guests and have a great time with them!

What is your favorite part of being in the fashion industry?

I think my favorite part of being in the fashion industry is meeting new young talents and connecting with them: I like learning about their stories, how they made it, where they come from.

How is a regular day in your life?

My days are always pretty busy! I usually wake up around 8 and make breakfast for my boyfriend and I. I leave for work around 9.20am so I can be there on time at 10am. My days are always filled with meetings, zoom calls with clients, new projects. Usually I have zoom meetings with clients that are in Europe in the mornings, after that I check with my team to see what’s on the to-do list for the day, and we split tasks. I take my lunch break around 1pm, and after my break I usually take appointments in the showrooms with influencers and stylists, work on new events concepts, as well as new ideas for our clients, to present to them. I leave work at 6.30pm and I head home where I usually find my boyfriend cooking dinner for both of us already! We are always very tired, so after a big dinner we watch a good movie and head to bed no later than 9.30/10pm!

What advice would you give to people aspiring to work as a Fashion PR?

Definitely intern in some big agencies to get a lot of experience, which is also going to be helpful for your resume! I know interning in a big agency might be scary, because the work environment is hectic and there’s always a lot of work to do, but if you want to make it in this industry you need to prove that you are fast paced and a hard worker!

How can someone become a Fashion PR?

I think experience is of essence, and that’s why I think it is important to intern at a big agency first. Connections and contacts are very important, so you have to spend quite a few years getting to know stylists, their clients, VIPs and their teams, all the biggest influencers. And create personal relationships with these amazing people that then will be essential for the job. If you had to go to an interview for a position as a Fashion PR.

How would you dress?

I would choose a ‘business-casual’ look: I would pair a pair of blue jeans with a nice belt and simple white t-shirt. On top I would style and oversized blazer and some nice jewelry (perhaps dangling earrings and a beaded necklace!). For shoes I would choose some kitten heels, which make me feel more confident without being too uncomfortable!

What made you want to start your first fashion blog “Giulia’s Fashion Blog”?

I was very young when I started my first blog, and I was one of the first ones to do this in Italy. I loved fashion so I wanted to share this passion I had with the world. Additionally, I’ve always enjoyed putting together outfits and looks, so I was also sharing photos of myself wearing my favorite looks, which is something that I really liked back then. After a while I also started writing reviews about fashion shows, new trends, so it translated more into a real fashion blog rather than a blog just about me and my outfits!

What would you consider the most rewarding aspect of being a Fashion PR?

Definitely a placement coming to life! I spend lots of time coordinating with stylists or influencers to send them pieces, pushing for my clients to be successful, so it’s really rewarding to see these big celebrities wearing clothes that I sent them and therefore seeing my clients happy that some big names wore their creations!
