Dubbed the “Ninja Princess,” Lotus is following in her father, Ernie Reyes Jr’s (The Last Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Rundown) footsteps. She has a black belt in martial arts and trains with her father in the unique technique of cinematic martial arts, performing her own stunts when the job requires it.
Wise beyond her years, Lotus is an animal lover and advocate for The Bunny World Foundation in Los Angeles, something dear to her heart as an owner of two rabbits. She has also become a leader of the youth by speaking out on social media against racial injustice and the mistreatment of the LQBTQ community.
Lotus Blossom is a rock star name. Tell me how did you come across the role in “WE CAN BE HEROES?
Thank you!! I got my first audition from my agents, then I was brought back for callbacks about a month later. This is where I met the director Robert Rodriguez for the first time. I am a big fan of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, so I was super excited to meet Robert. My audition went great and then before I knew it, I was boarding a plane on my way to Austin, Texas where we would be filming the movie over the summer.
How similar or how different is your character from your real personality?
In some ways, I am different from Acapella, but I always bring a part of myself into all the characters I play. I really connect with Acapella. She represents the power that every kid has, which is their voice to communicate and express themselves. That voice can be used in a positive way to bring about change. In that way, I really relate to my character, and we both love to do martial arts and kick butt! But I haven’t flown around lately and she always seems to be doing that.
How long have you been an actor?
I have been an actor for about 3 years now. My first job was a commercial for T-mobile. It was about a lemonade stand and I had a long monologue listing all the fees and added taxes to the price of my lemonade. My personal favorite fee was the standing on my lawn fee. It was a really great first experience.
What was it like playing alongside Priyanka Chopra, Boyd Holbrook, and Pedro Pascal on set?
It's super cool to be in a movie with Priyanka Chopra, Boyd Holbrook, and Pedro Pascal. We didn't really have a lot of work days together, but the ones we did have were pretty epic. It's always super fun to work with big stars.
Who's your favorite actor? and why?
One of my favorite actors is Johnny Depp. I love his characters in Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride, and Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
What inspires you in life?
In life, I’m inspired by art and creativity, music and fashion, and animals and nature.
Why do you love animals so much? What one pet animal you'd live to own that you have not?
I love caring for animals. I love creating bonds with animals because it's different than with people. Whenever I'm around animals, I always have a good feeling. I’ve loved the idea of living on a ranch with a bunch of animals for a while now, that always seemed cool to me. I have two bunnies currently, but I’ve always wanted a turtle!
What is the weirdest talent you have that fans would like to know?
I don't know if it's a talent, but I have a good eye for finding treasures at thrift shops. It’s one of my favorite things to do and how I get a lot of my clothes! I love finding unique, one of a kind pieces and I think that’s one of the best places to do it!
What other projects do you have to mention for 2021?
I am currently doing voiceover for a Netflix animated tv show and I have a movie called Magic Max coming out January 26th!
How can fans reach out to you on social media? What's the most important thing you'd like people to know about you as a person?
Fans can reach out to me on social media @lotussblossomm on instagram. The most important thing I'd like people to know about me as a person is that I play Acapella in We Can Be Heroes now streaming on Netflix!
