How did you learn your craft? Did you take classes or naturally gifted ? What are the good and the bad things about Broadway shows?
I was always drawn to singing and dancing when I was little. I liked to act out scenes and sing songs I would hear on the radio or tv. I've never really taken any acting classes however I do train vocally.
I absolutely love Broadway. I love seen the audiences reactions and speaking with them after shows. The only downfall to Broadway, for me personally is that it's a lot of work. I work 6 days a week and some nights I work until 10:30pm which is hard because I have school in the morning.
What did you admire about The Jackson five and Michael Jackson?
I love Motown so The Jackson Five has always been a huge influence on me musically. Michael Jackson is iconic. His music and dancing transcends generations. There aren't many artists that are known by people of all ages.
Do you have any dance moves ? What's your favorite pastime?
Dance moves...well I can follow choreography and do a little two step lol. I do love to dance but I do not train in dance anymore. When I am not working I really enjoy anime and video games.
How does it feel to be a part of this show and how are you preparing for this role?
‘I love being a part of MJ the Musical. We get huge crowds with tons of energy, especially on weekends. It's incredible. We worked on the development of the show for a few months before officially opening. It was a lot of hours but so much fun.’
Do you have any brothers or sisters ? What are they currently interested in?
I have a little sister. She's 11 and not into acting or anything like that. She loves animals and art.
Did you come from an entertainer's background as far as your family? If not, how did you persuade them to let you start auditioning for roles like this one?
My parents are mostly sports people so of course that is what they hoped for me but they were very receptive when I said I wanted to dance and act. They have supported me through this entire process.
What spoilers do you have about the show?
Oh man there are so many cool moments in the show. I think you will have to just come and experience it for yourself. You won't regret it!!
How do you stay grounded and humble?
I would have to say my parents. They make sure to remind me to just be grateful. I've also learned that with this industry things are fleeting. Jobs come and go in this business and I just try to enjoy the moment.
Where would you love to see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I will be about 24 and I would love to still be in business. I hope to go to college for film and possibly direct or be a screenwriter but ultimately I want to act.
