Inspired by the incredible beauty of the graphic white washed walls and ‘pietra serena’ interior of the Medici Chapel and the astoundingly elegant marble sculptures that are held within it, the CUSHNIE Fall/Winter 20 Collection is a study of contrast between graphic angular lines and delicate Grecian inspired draping.

Classical sculpture-inspired drapes are contrasted with angular/ faceted cuts, and irregularly pleated Taffeta offers a sculptural take on the traditional Grecian drape. Custom-designed graphic black and white prints reference the dramatic two-tone marble floor and wall décor of the Chapel, and the multi-layered geometric pearl embroidery pays homage to the many-layered articulation of the wall plane décor designed by Michelangelo.

Referencing the white marble interior of the Medici Chapel and the beautiful purple hues of the ‘Lily Iris Florentina’, the Fall color palette is grounded in Graphic Black, White, Navy and Night Violet against contrasting tones of delicate Iris, Chartreuse and Primrose.

Structure meets fluidity in silhouettes that follow the lines and curves of the female form. Brought to life through a spectrum of fabrications, the CUSHNIE Fall/Winter collection is imagined through irregularly pleated Taffeta, delicate striped Velvet and fluid Satin, rich stretch Velvet, fluid double-faced silk Charmeuse, Matte Jersey, Liquid Cady, and Light Power Stretch Viscose.
